A new development, this time on Tregunnel Hill, is due to start within the next few weeks. Those who want to remember the beautiful buttercup field had better be quick to take their final snaps as the whole field is about to be hidden under bricks and mortar.
Work on the first phase, preparation of the site and road laying, is scheduled to get underway shortly and be completed by sometime in the autumn. Then, the construction of 174 houses, 48 of which will be social housing, and business premises said to have the potential for thirty jobs, will kick off. It is expected that the first occupant of the houses will obtain the keys by Spring next year. The ground floor area of three buildings will be designated for businesses.
The same companies that were involved in a big project in Dorchester, CG Fry & Son and Morrish Builders, have been instructed by the Duchy to carry out this, the newest of several developments in the Newquay area.
